Welcome To

Reciprocal
Massage

A magical hybrid of massage, partner stretching, and contact improv that invites partners into a flow of deeper connection, communication, and mutual care.

About the Practice

What is Reciprocal Massage?

In most massages, the roles are set and care flows only one way — from the "giver" to the "receiver." But what if massage could be mutual, where the roles of giving and receiving were shared, and both people left feeling restored?

Enter Reciprocal Massage — a hybrid of massage, partner stretching, and contact improv that creates a flow, allowing both you and your partner to be stretched and massaged together. Whether you are curious to explore new ways of moving with a partner, want to level up your massage skills, or simply want to connect and express with your body - this class is for you!

"Both partners give and receive — creating a flow where every body flourishes."

The Workshop

A three hour class where attendees learn the foundations of Reciprocal Massage.

Come Learn...

What to Expect

Each session builds progressively — starting with movement and weight sharing, then deepening into touch, reciprocal care, and finally: flow.

Warmup

An invigorating and grounding warmup exploring elements of flow. Expect to move around, breathe, and sweat a little!

Weight Sharing

Exercises where you'll learn to communicate and play through the body — building trust and physical awareness with your partner.

Massage Techniques

An introduction to various massage techniques and partner stretches — giving you tools to both give and receive care.

The Flow

Partners are given space to play on their own — to discover new possibilities of stretching, massaging, and moving with one another organically.

The Flow

A one to two hour open space to explore Reciprocal Massage freely.

Come Play...

What to Expect

Reciprocal Massage is more than just a set of exercises or techniques — it is a tool for deeper communication and connection. In The Flow, you are invited to explore that physical communication with others, however you feel moved to. Simply bring your presence, curiosity, and willingness to play!

Grounding

We'll review the foundational of Reciprocal Massage to create a container of curiosity, care, and consent.

Invitation

You'll be given an optional prompt to explore, then welcomed into the space to play.

Free Flow

During this open exploration time, you'll be invited to both move and observe — learning from others.

Closing

We will seal the space with a moment for collective reflection and breath.

Who to Bring

For The Workshop:

This class is for pairs of any kind — partners, family, besties, your coworker, your next door neighbor... anyone you feel like rolling around with!

For The Flow:

The Flow is open for all folks! Come solo, in a pair, with a group — it is up to you. While you are welcome to stick with one person, it is encouraged to also find connections with others in the room. The more you explore, the more you learn!

Required: To attend The Flow, you must have attended The Workshop at least once prior. This ensures everyone in the room has a shared language to play within.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable clothing you can move and stretch in
  • Water bottle
  • Your favorite massage medium — oil, lotion, or body butter (optional)
  • A towel (optional)
  • A journal and pen (optional)

For compression techniques, full coverage clothing is fine. For gliding techniques, less clothing allows more skin-to-skin contact. A good combo: shorts + sports bra under loose sweats and a tee.
